In this serie of blogs I will start writing about the chakra's and what your body chakras could do for you. I would like to write about chakras in a less spiritual way so the theory about chakras will be more accessible for you. I start with the root chakra. The first chakra or root chakra is located at the base of the spine.
The first chakra is associated with the following functions or behavioral characteristics:
Basic needs (food, sleep, shelter, self-preservation, etc.)
Physicality, physical identity and aspects of self
Support and foundation for living our lives
When you have your root chakra energy in balance you will feel that you belong in this space. In yoga you can practice asana's to balance this chakra. Functional chakra's will be balancing poses and standing poses. So you can really feel that you are grounded. When this chakra is out of balance, so the energy is low. You can feel insecure, you could feel that you don't belong in some space or that you don't have the right to be here. And you will feel fear.
Personally, I do feel fear a lot. I don't know where I belong in this world yet;) So thats a good start relating to my chakra's;). I feel fear some days, but I do feel trust other days. My affirmation for today is: "I trust the process" and "I am". I am could be relatated to anything. "I am enough, I am secure, I am here" or simply just: "I am"
